Want to give this place a go and was wondering if anyone has fished it? it looks great on the website and has had some massive weights in matches! would like to know the best lakes, methods and baits?
thanks

i've fished one of the lakes on here a couple of years back and had quite a few carp/f1. meat/sweetcorn on float. the old man had more than me on prawn... i hear theyve been redeveloping the lakes. had one drained, desilted, and redesigned. when i fished it the fish were in the 1-2lb bracket. at the time the lake was one of these ribbon type made for pole anglers. not my cup of tea. Gold Lake looked smashing though but its members only. i'm sure one of our members Hayzee fished there quite regularly and he may have info.

Match from work here today on Covey(?) 4. The fishery is one of these canal type places and was apparently full of small F1s, some mirrors and roach. Sport was very slow early doors and had about a dozen fish in the first couple of hours, but in the second half of the match a shoal of F1s dropped on my feed and were going mad. Running at 2-3 to the pound i ended with 38.10 (probably 80-90 carp) and came third and was well pleased with my performance. Biggest fish pot was won with a 1lb 1 oz fish so that gives an idea of what to expect. Not my sort of place really but for frantic friendly match fishing where everyone can catch a few it was a real pleasant day and good fun.

Been partridge lakes many many times, very good place but the owner has realised that he can make a mint out of matches so its very heavily match fished so I stopped going as often. Nothing more annoying than taking a day off work to get there and find all the decent lakes/canals have matches on....
| This year i've landed my first double Carp, first Eels, first Barbel and come 3rd in a comp not a bad year for me........ Roll on next year |

Fished open match on ere today there was roughly about 60 people on it, four lakes in total covey 1 to 4 winning weight was around 90 pound fishing quite well for this time of year, fish seem to be f1s around a pound and i had few mirrors around 2 pound.
Seems to be catching on corn, feeding dead red and micro pellets, will hopefully get on a few more open matches over winter because its heavily stocked therefore will be hard not to catch.
