Biggest problem i find when fishing a running rig at distance is the high chance of it tangling. After a bit of thought i am pretty sure i've found the main issue. On a big chuck its pretty obvious that the lead will be leading through flight, thus causing a kink/pivot in your chosen leader, which causes the hooklength to come close to it and is probably the cause of the tangle.

Now with the simple addition of the 2" hard plastic boom this eliminates the kink/pivot on your leader and on the hardest of chucks i've found this to be of great success in achieving an anti tangle running rig.

Dont know if this is already about,Thoughts/feedback appreciated,or any other ways around the problem

Does 10 feet count as distance casting or just a lob? I never go beyond that but looks a good setup Tony. Good thinking.

Nice one Tony good rig and good fettling to make it anti tangle. There is nothing worse than fishing with someone(YOU) and they turn around and say whooooo that looks like it was tangled that!!!! You get me every time when we are on a chucking water!!! I'm impressed with that tho.
