At least the pup is keen and if he wanted to go back after today's weather then he's got it bad! I've still to catch one although I'm hoping to put that right on Sunday.

In a way it was a blessing he lost it Mick....if he'd of landed a 20+ on his first ever piking trip where would he had gone from there..... I believe in working for rewards as you get a greater sense of achievement, one day he'll land a monster, but to have 1 first trip will in the future only demoralise the lad :-X

At least he got ataste of what its like to hang on to a big fish ;D

Looks like a BS outing. I'm off there too. Hopefully I'll get my first ever pike.

well another abject piking failure. felt real positive about this one. Rang the changes with different deads, did a bit of wobbling to no avail. Had one strangeish 'take' on floatfished sprat where the float was dipping but not going. hit fresh air and the head seemed to have been sucked/chewed but no other marks??.....

good to see Carl on the pikers wall - bacon butty was top notch! Certainly see a wide range of abilities on Jumbles. Had a masterclass/tutorial from an experienced piker who removed another trace from the gut of a jack he had caught. saw the benefits of long handled wire cutters.

next trip to a noddy pikers water me thinks

I'm just back after a full day session on the Jummies. Two fish graced my unhooking mat, unfortunately neither was caught on one of my rods! Someone who sells dead baits caught his first pike and another angler down the bank had one which he needed a hand unhooking. I spoke to the bailiff on the way off and he said he thought only three pike had been caught all day, so well done to those who did. We fished the quarry area.

I've never seen people piking with a method feeder baggin waggler thing through to a sprat on a single hook before anyway! The other lad did a good job on the trace and hopefully saved the fish.

My body temp hs just about returned to normal and my stuff is drying out. Good day even if I only caught a tennis ball (???). Cheers to Neil for the Pot Noodle and good company, back to Gleaves for me.
